A standing stone attesting to the existence of over thirty years of education, hard works, and the devotion of others. Lichen covers it. The petroglyphs on the surface can no longer be read.
. . .
I am originally from Greenville, Mississippi, and was born in Jackson, where I was issued the sensible but crowded name of Amy E. O’Neal. I have recently received my MFA from the Writing & Publishing program at Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier. Prior to my work at Vermont College of Fine Arts, I practiced law in the greater Boston area for several years. I graduated with a JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville. As an undergraduate, I attended Bryn Mawr College, where I received a bachelors’ degree in classical and Near Eastern archaeology in 2001.
Under the name of L.T. Patridge, I have published in Innsmouth magazine, Lovecraft eZine, and Grimoire magazine, among others. My short story “The Innsmouth Ladies’ Guide to Household Management” received an Honorable Mention (long list) for Best Horror of the Year, vol. 5, ed. Ellen Datlow (Night Shade Books, 2013).
Intriguing statement. Perhaps if one tried hard enough the petroglyphs could be read. Anyway, I am a fellow Mississippian now living and writing in New Mexico. My family is from the Mendenhall area. I found you as a book reviewer on the Kindle Book Review. I have a speculative fiction writer’s blog at http://www.dloonline.com. I posted a short synopsis there about my latest novel perhaps you would enjoy reading and reviewing it. You might even enjoy my blog-good luck.
